Now I love end of the world movies. One of my favourite books is The Stand, I love The Road, Zombie films- basically if a film is about a end of the world event I’m all over it.

Contagion doesn’t quite get there. Its a film about a super virus and the reaction of people and government to that situation. It thinks of itself as quite a serious film but lets itself down in three main areas 1) it’s full of cameos so it descends into “Oh I didn’t know Winslet was in this” 2) Jude Law has a hilarious ever changing accent throughout the film and 3) I generally hated all the characters and hoped they’d die. SPOILER they don’t. Sadly.

Also the film doesn’t feature Zombies, Aliens, Cannibalism or anything interesting about the fall of man. Just a few riots and lets face it we all know what that looks like without a mega flu turning up.

There are a few monkeys but they only get about a minutes screen time. To it’s debit.
